Open Workshop: Workshop Synopsis Assessment literacy is the ability to create and use valid and reliable assessments as a classroom teacher in order to facilitate student learning. While all professional teachers have completed some degree of preparation in the domain of assessment, there is objective and anecdotal evidence that assessment is a relative weakness for many teachers. Consequently, school administrators often recognize a need to support and intentionally develop their teachers in this domain. This one-day session will introduce theoretical foundations of assessment literacy, a model for developing assessment literacy with teachers, and strategies for leading for assessment literacy with classroom teachers.
