Workshop Description The teaching and learning of creativity and creative thinking skills and strategies for the classroom teacher is presented. There is an emphasis upon activities to promote an understanding of creative thinking skills and dispositions of students, as well as developing strategies to enhance these skills and dispositions. Participants will bring syllabi and lesson plans to revise, or will develop new syllabi and lesson plans to promote creative thinking and dispositions in their classes. The culminating activity will be a presentation of their syllabi and a lesson incorporating their newly acquired skills in a content that they teach. Objectives: 1. To develop an understanding of the current field of creativity and creative thinking and instruction. 2. To incorporate current research to develop creative thinking skills and dispositions in students. 3. To be able to assess creativity and creative thinking in your students. 4. To develop a syllabus and lesson that incorporates current research on creativity and creative thinking instruction.

Daniel Fasko, Jr., Ph.D. is a Professor of Educational Psychology at Bowling Green State University where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Educational Psychology and Life-Span Development. He is a member of American Educational Research Association (AERA), European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI), American Psychological Assocation (APA) and is a frequent presenter, discussant, reviewer, and chair of sessions at national and international conferences. |
