The Presenters
Professor John Hattie Professor John Hattie is an award-winning education researcher and best-selling author with nearly 30 years of experience examining what works best in student learning and achievement. Over the years, he has authored over 38 books, published and presented over 1200 research papers, supervised over 200 theses students to completion, and keynoted at more than 350 conferences. Currently, he is a Laureate Professor at the University of Melbourne, and Chair of the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leaders. His most recognized work is his Visible Learning research, the culmination of nearly 30 years of examining what works best for student learning and achievement. His notable publications include Visible Learning, Visible Learning for Teachers, Visible Learning and the Science of How We Learn, Visible Learning into Action, Visible Learning for Mathematics, Grades K-12, and 10 Mindframes for Visible Learning.
Ms Vania Tiatto Vania is the Director of Professional Learning for Corwin Australia (a global professional learning organisation). Working closely with system and school leaders, teachers and subject matter experts, Vania provides leadership in design, implementation and evaluation of quality professional learning services in a wide range of modalities. With a career in the field of education for over 25 years, Vania has worked across different sectors in education at local, state, national and international levels. Her roles have included school principal, instructional leader, teacher and leader coach, consultant, classroom teacher and instructional designer. Vania has extensive experience in successfully leading organisational improvement, designing and implementing professional learning for educators at scale, strategic planning and project management, facilitation of adult learning, leadership development and teacher and leader coaching. She is deeply committed to partnering with educators to continually improve teaching and learning to ensure success for all learners.
