Workshop Fee: S$300.00 per participant which includes all training materials, 2 tea breaks and a lunch. For every 2 participants from the same school/organisation who signed up, the cost will be S$250.00 per person. Fees do not include GST. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Workshop Outline
Participants in the Own the Microphone (OTM) public speaking programme session will:
DISCOVER
Through slide presentation, video clips, and dialogue with Canadian public speaking coach Dawn Sundell, workshop participants will discover:
- Who – can benefit from developing public speaking skills
- What – techniques are most effective to foster ‘courage, confidence, and poise’
- Where – curriculum and public speaking skills intersect
- When – public speaking skills can be used by students to create ‘impact’.
- Why – developing public speaking skills at a young age can have such a profound effect on student success in school and success in life
LEARN
Through audio-video presentation, practical examples, and demonstration, Dawn Sundell will help participants learn:
- How – to teach students to effectively:
- speak with scripts
- show power-point or photographs
- speak about an object
- tell a story
- introduce and thank a guest speaker
- present and accept an award
- think on their feet
- participate in the ‘art of conversation’
- deliver an impromptu talk
- How – to make effective use of OTM support resources:
- Student Workbook
- Instructor’s Guide
- Online programming access for home use
- How – to establish an OTM school programme

About the Trainer - Ms Dawn Sundell
