Mindframes of Educators Who Think and Act Evaluatively

Your mindframes—your internal beliefs about your role as an educator—determine the practices you choose to implement. Building on over twenty-five years of Visible Learning research, thinking and acting evaluatively is core to mindframes of highly impactful educators.

So, what is evaluative thinking and why is it important? What does it actually look like in practice? How do you build a learning organisation where thinking and acting evaluatively is what leaders, teachers and students do every day as part of the learning process?

This course is focused on strengthening educator competency in

  • recognising the extent to which you think and act evaluatively when making decisions about learning
  • thinking and acting evaluatively to make better decisions

Leave this course with...

  • insights into up-to-date findings from the Visible Learning research, including the factors from Visible Learning that support key mindframes
  • practical ideas to strengthen evaluative thinking and acting to make better decisions about learning
  • a supporting resource with further readings and material to assist next steps

This course connects with the SkillsFuture for Educators prioritised areas of practice relating to assessment literacy through the lens of Visible Learning by purposefully developing educator skills in effectively diagnosing and addressing evaluative thinking and acting to inform next steps.

This course is one of a series of courses. Attend one or attend all courses to explore ways of translating new and relevant research into practice.
