Workshop Description
How do you help fellow leaders without just coming outright and telling them what to do? Peer Mentoring will give you a framework that makes you a helpful colleague, not a critical judgmental one.
Objectives: This workshop will enable key personnel to understand
- the philosophy behind peer mentoring,
- the difference between different types of mentoring and coaching
- various mentoring models
- the model that the sponsoring body will be adopting
Relevance: For clusters or schools planning to enrich the mentoring process among key personnel.

About Mrs Belinda Charles
Mrs Belinda Charles is a retired principal who led in both secondary school and junior college for the last 25 years of her teaching career. Her last posting was as the principal of St Andrew’s Secondary School from which she retired at the end of 2010. She was one of the youngest principals to lead a secondary school in 1986 and subsequently a junior college in 1990. Mrs Charles has sat on several committees at education headquarters and was involved in important education review committees including Thinking Schools Learning Nation, leading to her being conferred the Silver Public Administration Medal. For ten years, Mrs Charles was also, concurrently, an adjunct lecturer with the National Institute of Education in the 1990s, conducting modules for teacher trainees in their pre-service training, courses for qualified teachers coming back for in-service training, and modules for heads of department coming in to do their Diploma in Departmental Management as well as principals-in-training.

Workshop Fee: S$270.00 per participant. If 2 or more participants from the same school/organization attend the same course, the discounted fee will be S$250.00 per participant for that particular course. Fees are subject to GST. Include all training materials, 1 tea break and 1 lunch.
Other Information: Registration is on a first-come-first serve basis. No refunds will be made for cancellations or in the case of absentees. The Academy accepts replacements for registered participants who are unable to attend for whatever reasons.
