About Dr Amy S. Gaumer Erickson
Dr Amy S. Gaumer Erickson is an associate research professor at the University of Kansas. She has taught at the middle and high school levels, in urban, suburban, charter and alternative schools. For the past 15 years, her work has focused on the implementation of instructional strategies within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) that enable students with and without disabilities to become college and career ready. To this end, she with her colleague, Pattie Noonan, have published four books, more than 20 peer-reviewed articles, and an integrated framework, all of which translate research results into practical applications. Dr Gaumer Erickson has provided high-quality professional development to thousands of educators, learning from these educators through a practice-based research approach. As shared by teachers, impacts of Dr Gaumer Erickson's workshops include students taking responsibility for their actions, managing conflicts more effectively, asking for help when they need it, turning in quality work on time, collaborating effectively with others, and proactively planning for their own success.
